Blankenship, 94
HARRINGTON - Howard S. Blankenship passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mr. Blankenship was born in Hanover, West Virginia to the late, Etta Mae and William Blankenship.
Mr. Blankenship served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his discharge, he found work in the coal mines of West Virginia. After a while there, he moved on and went to work as a chemical compounder of synthetic latex for the Reichold Chemical Company where he retired after 27 years of employment.
When he was not hard at work, Mr. Blankenship did enjoy gardening, camping, and fishing, especially for catfish. He was always active in his church, and loved his dogs very much. Growing up during the Great Depression, Mr. Blankenship knew the hardships of life, and knew that hard work, determination, and love for his family, would see him through anything. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, and will be sorely missed.
Mr. Blankenship is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marilyn J. Blankenship; son, Bruce Blankenship (Bonnie); daughter, Kathy Henry (Robert); and grandsons, Robert Henry Jr. and Chad Henry.
