KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Hilda Marie Garnett, of Kennedyville, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, after a short illness. She was 72.
She was born June 26, 1935, daughter of the late John and Mary Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Garnett Sr.; two daughters, Linda Wright and Cassie Chatt; one son, Stanley Marshall Garnett Jr.; five brothers, John, Bernard, Oliver, Clarence and Rodney.
Hilda was an assembly line worker and retiree at DaimlerChrysler. Later she became a caregiver for many families.
She enjoyed playing cards and going to Delaware Park along with being with family and friends.
She loved her pets, Max and Snowball.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Michael Garnett of Newark and Griffin "Ricky" Garnett of El Paso, Texas; three sisters, Julia Gaskin of Woodstown, N.J., Doris Gale of Elkton, Md., and Jean Hollingsworth of Bear; one brother, Nathan Garnett of Newark; 13 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Wednesday at Zion United Methodist Parish, Cecilton, with a viewing two hours prior.
Burial will be in Still Pond Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Butlertown.
