Henry S. 'Buddy' Bush, 95

SMYRNA - Henry S. "Buddy" Bush, of Smyrna, passed away in his home Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009. He was 95. Mr. Bush was born Oct. 21, 1913, in Dover, the son of the late Henry E. and Sara Scotton Bush. He worked as a government service employee at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge for 32 years and retired from the State of Delaware Capitol Police following seven years of service. Mr. Bush was a charter member of Leipsic Fire Company 53 and a member of Citizens Hose Company 1 in Smyrna. He was also a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1903. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Lib" Jones Bush; a son, Henry "Freddie" Bush; a grandson, Scott Bush and two sisters, Mildred Reed and Dorothy Krueger. He is survived by a daughter, Connie J. Luff and her husband Bart of Dover; two sisters, Anne Ashby of Wilmington and Betty Brittingham of Dover; a daughter-in-law, Louise Bush of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Melissa Stokes and her husband Jeff, Gregory Bush and his wife Cheryl, Steve Duncan and his wife Lisa and Tanya Andrews and her husband Bob; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Hodges, Sara Riley and Riley Duncan; and four special nieces and nephews, Emily Jean Heath and her husband Dudley, Jim Jones and his wife Darlene, Bill Jones and his wife Lorene and Vi Jones and other nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main St. Smyrna, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery Smyrna. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Leipsic Fire Company, 318 Main St., Leipsic, DE 19901 or to Citizens Hose Company 1, P.O.
