SALISBURY - Henry James Kruse Sr. died Saturday, April 9, 2016, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Henry Francis Kruse and Isabella Lombardo Owens, and stepson of Virgil Owens. He was a U.S. Army and Marine Corps veteran, and a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Salisbury. He worked for Koontz Creamery for 20 years where he was best known as "Hank The Milk Man." Later he worked for Outten Brothers Furniture. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Lee Sharpley Kruse; three children, Teresa A. Bailey, of Laurel, Henry "Jay" Kruse Jr., of Tazewell, Tenn., and Cathy J. Kruse, of Salisbury; seven grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, James Owens. A funeral service was held Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron.
