DOVER - Hella Lucy Coppock passed away on Jan. 15, 2018 at Kent General Hospital. Hella was born in Berlin, Germany on Aug. 17, 1926.
Hella was a German war bride, it was a time when the world was in chaos and she came to Dover in 1957 to raise three children by herself. She saw it all and we are blessed we had so many years with her to hear the many stories of her life. God bless you Mom and Oma you did great raising us and loving us all.
In order to raise her three children, Hella worked as a freelance seamstress, while working at Torbert Funeral Home and the Elks Club in Dover for many years. She was a volunteer and member of Harvest Years in Camden for 20+ years. She also provided adult foster care in her home for individuals who could no longer remain in their homes.
She is survived by her son, Deloy R. Moore and his wife Jo Ann Moore; her daughter, JoAnn Moore and her husband David Wolfe; and her son, Michael Moore; and eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
As per Hella's wishes, there will be no funeral services at this time. A private service is planned with family.
Letters of condolences may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
