FREDERICA - Helen M. Shahan, of Frederica, died on Feb. 24, 2014 in the comfort of her daughter, Tammy Edge, who had cared for her since 2005 with the help of Linda Shahan. Mrs. Shahan was a homemaker. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and working in her garden. She was a former longtime member of First Baptist Church of Frederica. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris E. Shahan. She is survived by her children, Richard Norris Shahan (Gertie), Sandra Marie Shahan Steward (Norman), Irene Helen Shahan, Barbara Ann Nalbone, Robert Ray Shahan (Jeannie), Linda Rose Shahan, George Wayne Shahan (Victoria), Beverly Jeannie Glanden (Ira), Carol Sue Tiedemann (Troy), Tammy Lynette Edge (Thomas); one brother, Donald Richard Carlisle; 27 grandchildren; 53 great- grandchildren; and 19 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, Feb. 28, 2014 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Paster Billy Curtis will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Online condolences may be made via pippinfuneralhome.com.
