Helen L. Berman

DOVER - Helen L. Berman passed away on, Sunday, April 1, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Berman was born, Jan. 10, 1923 to the late, Isaac and Molly Borish in Philadelphia, Pa.
She was a graduate of Simon Gratz Highschool in Philadelphia, and went on to receive her RN in 1944 from Albert Einstein Medical Center, formerly known as the Jewish Hospital. There she met her future husband, Dr. Marvin R. Berman, who was attending optometry school two blocks down the road. They wed in Aug. 1944 and remained married until Marvin's passing, in Jan. 1998. Mrs. Berman raised three children while working side by side with her husband in his office for 30 years.
Mrs. Berman was a charter member of Kent General Hospital's junior board and past president. She was a charter and life member of HADASSAH, where she served both locally and nationally on various committees
She is survived by her sons, Andrew Berman, and wife Stephanie, of Smyrna, Jeffrey Berman, of, Virginia; daughter, Melissa Berman of California; grandchildren, Sarah Berman Rackow, Max Berman and Pacey Berman.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to the The Hadassah Foundation Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 1100 New York, New York 10268-1100.
