MILFORD - Helen E. Donovan, of Milford, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Heritage, Milford. She was 84. Helen was born in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of the late William R. and Sophie Emmerling Robinson. She was a receptionist for Wyoming Block Co. Helen was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Junior Women's Club of Claymont, Christ Episcopal Church Women's Club in Milford , Milford New Century Club, Milford Red Hatters and the Civil Air Patrol. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Donovan Sr. in 1999; a daughter, Carolyn Watkins in 2004 and a son-in-law, John V. Davis Jr. She is survived by her children, Charles H. Donovan Jr. and his wife Suzanne, Helen Charlotte Davis and Carl William Donovan and wife Michelle Huntenann; sister, E. Kathryn Farrell and her husband Samuel, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Christ Episcopal Church, 200 Church Ave., Milford. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday night in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford. Burial was in Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery, Milford.
