Hazel Virginia Campbell

Hazel Virginia Campbell, 90

HARRISONBURG, VA - Hazel Virginia Campbell, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, in her home. She was 90. Mrs. Campbell was born on June 11, 1918 in Masontown, Pa., and was one of six children born to the late Ralph L. and Emma Fern Crowe Berkshire. In 2001, she moved from Sarasota, Fla. to Virginia. She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was a member of Palm Grove Mennonite Church in Florida, and attended Dayton Mennonite Church, and Morning View Mennonite Church in Virginia. On June 18, 1938, she married Walter A. Campbell, who preceded her in death on March 15, 1984. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Elaine Campbell, who died in 1947, and Virginia Faye Campbell, who died in 1983. Surviving is one daughter, Shelby J. Fryling of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sons, Donald Campbell of Middlebrook, Va., J.R. Campbell of Greenwood, Sheldon Campbell of Sarasota, Fla., and Walter Campbell Jr. of Stryker, Ohio; one sister, Evelyn Berkshire of Harrisonburg, Va.; one brother, Glen Berkshire of Harrisonburg, Va.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pastors Ric Gullman and Raleigh Rhodes will conduct a funeral service at Dayton Mennonite Church on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Dayton Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg, Va.
