Hazel L. Shuster

GEORGETOWN - Hazel L. Shuster, 81, of Georgetown, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at her home in Georgetown. She was born May 30, 1930, in Watertown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Sage and Inez Hopseker. Mrs. Shuster previously worked at the Stockley Center in Georgetown. She is survived by seven children, Lucille Shuster of Powhatan, Va., Vivian Phillips of Chesterfield, Va., Leo Shuster, Jr. of Elmira, N.Y., Joan Shuster of King William, Va., Joseph Shuster, Sr. of Wellsburg, N.Y., Debra Matkosky of Magnolia, and Laura Reed of Blades; 21 grandchildren, and over 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo F. Shuster, Sr.; and two daughters, Helen (Barbara) Burrer and Kathleen Phillips. Services will be private. In memory of Mrs. Shuster, contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home.
