LEWES - Harvey Lamont Evans, was born in Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Delaware on September 26, 1949. He was the son of the late Harvey and Florence Evans both who preceded him in death. He ended his earthly pilgrimage on January 11, 2016. Harvey received his formal education in the public schools of Dorchester County, Maryland. He graduated from Mace's Lane High School, a proud member of the class of 1971. He received his bachelor's degree in Education from what is now Bowie State University (BSU). He leaves to cherish loving memories with his two sisters: Faye Evans-Stanley of Finchville, MD and Beverly Holmes (Albert) of Laurel, DE; Five brothers, Vance Bolden Sr. (Doris) of Finchville, MD, Vincent Evans Sr. (Sheila) of Seaford, DE, Bruce Evans Sr. of Salisbury, MD, Vaughn Evans Sr. (Sharon) of Hurlock, MD and Booker Evans (Anita) of Bryans Road, MD; Seventeen nieces and nephews, Brenda Ice, Patrice Stanley, Carlton Stanley, Jr., Albert Holmes III, Charisse Holmes(his godchild), Vaughn Evans Jr., Renita Evans, Caitlyn Evans, Christian Evans, Vincent Evans, Jr., Brent Evans, Marchelle Smith, Vanette Smith, Shervon Bolden, Rhonda Bolden, Vance Bolden, Jr., and Bruce Evans, Jr (his godchild).; Seven great nieces, Seven great nephews and a host of cousins and friends. Two sisters, Brenda and Sharon, and one brother, Harvey Jr., preceded him in death. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, 2pm, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover DE. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Mount Hope United Methodist Church, Finchville, MD. (Harvey L. Evans Scholarship Fund).
