Harry 'Jimmy' Taylor Jr., 80

CECILTON, MD - Harry "Jimmy" Taylor Jr., died on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, in Laurelwood Nursing Home, Elkton, Md. He was 80. Born on Aug. 23, 1928 in Sassafras, Md., he was the son of the late Harry S. Taylor Sr. and Sarah D. Haley. Jimmy worked for Georgetown Yacht Basin for 30 years as a boat painter. He was a life member of Chesapeake City VFW Post 7687, a member of Rising Sun American Legion Post 194, Chestertown Elks Lodge 2474, Elkton Moose Lodge 851, and Zion United Methodist Church in Cecilton, Md. Jimmy loved playing cards, fishing, hunting, crabbing, family functions, and loved to socialize with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Miriam L. Taylor. He is survived by his children, Harry S. Taylor III, of Cecilton, Md., Larry E. Taylor, of Elkton, Md., Gary L. Taylor, of Cecilton, Md., and Debbie Watson, of Elkton, Md.; stepchildren, Patty Thompson, of San Antonia, Texas, and Bobby Thompson, of Middletown; brother, Tommy Taylor, of Middletown; sisters, Virginia Argo, of Bear, Betty Wooleyhan, of Earleville, Md., and Mary Jo Lum, of Galena, Md.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 at Zion United Methodist Church in Cecilton, Md., where friends and family may call two hours prior. Burial will follow at the adjacent cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 326, Cecilton, MD 21913. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 226 E.
