Harry George "Pappy" Wright Jr., 77
LEWES - Harry George "Pappy" Wright Jr. of Lewes passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 77.
Mr. Wright was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed by General Motors of Wilmington for 35 years, where he worked as supervisor of the body shop. He will be fondly remembered for all the GM athletic teams he organized over the years.
Mr. Wright was the greatest fisherman in the world, besides his grandson, Jake.
He was active in the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Delaware Club of Florida.
Mr. Wright delighted in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark George Wright.
He is survived by his long time companion whom he was devoted to, Norma D"Alesio; seven children, John, Bill, Conne, Terrie, Fred, David and Anne Marie; three stepchildren, Betty, Michael and Donna; 26 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday in St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, U.S. 1, north of Five Points, Lewes.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 17, American Legion Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
