He furthered his education at the University of Delaware where he was a member of the Fightin' Blue Hens football team, graduating in 1953 with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served his country in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. He was very proud to have worked for the company for 50 years reaching the office of Chief Engineer. During his years of work he travelled extensively around the world. In his spare time, Skip put his talents as a handyman to work on various projects and especially enjoyed the challenge of a home remodeling job. He was a member of the Kirkwood Rotary Club and a devoted member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Stanton where he sang with the church choir for 50 years.
