Madden, 64

CAMDEN - Harold Edward Madden of Camden died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 64.

Mr. Madden was born June 2, 1943, in Wolf County, Ky., son of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Halsey) Madden.

He worked in communications for the U.S. Air Force for 22½ years before retiring with the rank of master sergeant. Most of his career was spent in Germany and England.

He enjoyed fishing and was an avid college basketball fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.

Mr. Madden was a prominent basketball player in high school while living in Kentucky. He attended Morehead State College in Morehead, Ky., for two years.

He is survived by his wife, Helene (Courtright) Madden; a daughter, Renee Chuhralya of Williamsburg, Va.; a son, David Madden of Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Helene Miller of Dover and Nicole Morris of Marydel; a sister, Christine Watts of Jackson, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Erin Fagan of Williamsburg, Va., Amanda Fagan of Williamsburg, Tate Madden of Texas, Ruby Rose Madden of Texas, Courtney Morris of Marydel, and Alexis Miller and Olivia Miller, both of Dover; and several nieces and nephews in Jackson.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call at 12:30 p.m.

Burial will be in Barratt"s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
