Hansford Hodge

Hansford Hodge, 79

DOVER - Hansford Hodge of Dover died Friday, July 20, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 79.

Mr. Hodge was born March 8, 1928, in Morristown, Tenn., to the late Ella and William Hodge.

He retired as a tech sergeant from the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Mr. Hodge was an active member of the American Legion Post 2.

He enjoyed farming his garden and spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mamie Jane (Collins) Hodge; and two sisters, Audrey Coffee and Wanda Tobey.

He is survived by a son, David L. Hodge and his wife Becky of Dover; five grandchildren, Crystal, Mariah, Jason, Jamie, and Marcie; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Everette Coffey; five sisters, Jean Hodge, Louise Wells, Pauliene Wells, Phyllis Arwood and Brenda Carpenter; and his longtime friend, Sam Wilson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
