HARRINGTON - H. Bruce Herrington passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Bayhealth/Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born in Frederica on June 6, 1936, the son of the late Harry E. and Florence C. Herrington. He grew up in Milford and later resided in Andrewville with his family. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1954 to 1957. He retired from Chesapeake Utilities of Dover after 33 years. He was previously a member of Jr. Jaycees, Ruritan Club of Andrewville, and Loyal Order of Moose for 28 years, and currently a member of Harrington Senior Center. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy Warren and Barbara Kimmey. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce Herrington; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy Lynn Wix and Robert Wix, Sr. of Farmington; grandson, Tanner Keith Buck; nephew, Tim Warren of Harrington; nieces, Robbin Nicholson of Crompton, Md., Crystal Payne of Stillpond, Md., Gae Piotti of Wilmington, and Joy Johnson of Limon, Colo. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE.
