
HARTLY - Gregory Mayhorn passed away on Jan. 18, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Greg was owner of Mayhorn's Body Shop in Hartly for over 20 years. He enjoyed riding and building motorcycles. He was also a musical performer where he sang for the band Backtrack. He often enjoyed playing his guitar in church and for family and friends. Greg was known for his love of Chuck Taylor's and wore them for every occasion.
Greg spent every Sunday worshipping, and previously ran the sound board at Pentecostals of Dover Church. He always had strong faith and a close relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a dear friend to many and loved spending his free time with family sitting on the Mayhorn family front porch and helping his father in the vegetable garden.
Greg is survived by three children, Courtney Lynn Hacker and her husband Jeremy of Felton, Skyler Angel Mayhorn of Hartly and Mandi Anderson and her husband William of Dover; his mother, Patricia A. Mayhorn of Hartly; his brother, best friend and bodyguard, Keith Mayhorn and his wife Sonja Kay of Camden; two sisters, Lisa Marie Evans and her husband Todd of Hartly and Sondra Kay Souder and her husband Donald of North East, Md.; four grandchildren, Carson, Kennedy, Mason and Billy; his caregiver, Debbie Thomas of Dover; and several nieces and nephews to whom he was known as Uncle Bubba. He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Mayhorn; and his brother, Marcus Keith Mayhorn.
A memorial service will be Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018 at The Pentecostals of Dover, 4462 W. Denneys Road, Dover, DE 19904 where friends may visit with the family from 1 to 2 p.m. and service beginning at 2 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Judes in Greg's name.
