DOVER - Grace C. Driggus passed away peacefully Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, Va.
Mrs. Driggus was born March 2, 1919, in Norfolk, Va.
She worked over 30 years for General Foods and was a dedicated volunteer member of the Junior Board at Kent General Hospital.
Mrs. Driggus enjoyed serving God. She was a member of the Altar Guild, United Methodist Women and the Active Adults at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Dover.
In addition to her husband, Walter T. Driggus, a sister, Winifred Harris, and a cousin, Hortense Williams, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Driggus is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diahann and Thomas Battle of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Djuana Battle of Portsmouth, and Thomas Battle Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Kamaran and Kheir Battle, both of Portsmouth; a cousin, Ann William of Arlington, Texas; a goddaughter, Renee Ashe and her husband, André, of Middletown; the Whatcoat church family; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends and family may call tonight from 6 to 8, and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Dover.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the church.
