MILFORD - Gordon P. Davis, born June 15, 1926. Passed away on July 19, 2022 at home after a short illness. Gordon was the youngest son of Roland and Mabel B. Davis.
He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Webb; brothers, George, Russell, Richard and Robert Davis; and Gordon's beloved wife Jeannette in 1993.
Gordon worked for over 30 years at Sears in Dover and after retirement he and Jeanette became volunteer groundskeepers at the Milford Little League Park, which they continued for another 30 years. Gordon was also President and Board Member of Millwood Community Center until present.
Gordon is survived by his sister Marian VanVorst; four children, Diane Webb, Wayne Davis, JoAnn Davis and Steve (Dee) Davis; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Gordon (Pop-Pop) was very active for many years in the grandkids school and sports activities. He loved being around kids and sports, especially baseball.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front Street, Milford, DE and a time of Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Millwood Community Center, c/o Todd Davis, 1871 New Wharf Road, Milford, DE 19963 or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901. Arrangements are being handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
