Gloria Giorgia (Marrone) Rich, 79
LEWES - Gloria Giorgia (Marrone) Rich, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Friday, May 23, 2008, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 79.
She was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Utica, N.Y., daughter of the late John B. and Jennie (Ciruzzi) Marrone.
Mrs. Rich relocated to the Lewes area 14 years ago after living in New York, Seaford and Wilmington.
She was a member of the Lewes and Cape Henlopen senior centers and volunteered at the New Life Thrift Shop.
Mrs. Rich was a member of the Altar Society at St. Helena's Parish in Wilmington.
She always enjoyed being a member of garden clubs in the various communities where she resided.
Mrs. Rich was also a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Teresa Micucci; and a brother, Peter Marrone.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Webster Rich; two daughters, Barbara R. Kambarn and her husband Bob of Allen, Md., and Anne R. Miller and her husband Steve of Cary, N.C.; three sons, Charly Rich of Newark, Bill Rich and his wife Jongrak of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jack Rich of Eden, Md.; grandchildren, Lynn Matava and her husband Joe of Hebron, Md., Carrie Kambarn of Salisbury, Md., and Daniel, Michael, Kelsey and Ashley Miller, all of Cary; great-grandchildren, Maya and Annabel Matava of Hebron; daughter-in-law, Nancy Rich of Boca Raton; two sisters, Mary Peters and Thelma Fitzgerald, both of Utica; and many nieces, nephews and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Del. 1, north of Five Points, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
Father James Hreha will be the celebrant.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the New Life Thrift Shop, 1580 Highway One, Lewes, DE 19958; or to St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
