DOVER - Gladys Naomi (Wescott) Mason, 84, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at the Silver Lake Nursing Home in Dover. Born in Wardtown, Va., she was the daughter of the late Colbert and Tillie (Fritchett) Wescott. Her late husband Colie Mason, Sr. preceded her in the late 70's. She made her home in Sussex County, Delaware, for the past 50 years. She was formerly employed with Allen Hatchery in Dagsboro. Her survivors include seven sons and one daughter, Colie Mason, Jr. of New Castle, Stanley (Geri) of Salisbury, Md., Franklin (Takae) of Dover, Thurman of Slaughters Neck, David (Darlene) of Concord, Rodney (Bernice) Darryl (Brenda) Mason, both of Georgetown, and Diane (Harold) Stokes of Harbeson; four sisters, Adell Davis, Georgianna Sturgis, Farris (Preston) Strand, and Gloria Fletcher, all of Parksley, Va.; three brothers, Frichett and Kenneth Wescott, both of Frankford, and Roland Wescott of Parksley, Va.; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Two sisters and a brother, Beatrice, Virginia, and Carnation Wescott preceded her in death. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17, at Pilgrims Ministry of Deliverance Church in Georgetown, where friends may call two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Wardtown, Va., 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Services are entrusted to Jolley Memorial Chapel, Salisbury.
