Millington - Glada McCormick Edwards died July 10, 2015 in U of M Shore Medical Center, Chestertown, Md. Mrs. Edwards was born on June 24, 1924 in McCorkle, W.Va., daughter of the late Maywood J. and Edith L. Nicholas McCormick. In 1944 she moved to Kent County living in Massey and since 1990 in Millington. She had worked at Millington Elementary School, as a hostess for Howard Johnson's and a waitress for the Granary. Glada was a member of Millington VFW Post 652 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, George 'Reds" Edwards in 2001 and seven siblings, Desker, Ohley, Marion, Archie and Clifford McCormick, Geneva Woodall and Goldie Price VanSant. Mrs. Edwards is survived by four children, Barry Edwards of Millington, Md., Frances Schultz of Seaford, Del., Edith S. Johnson of Guthrie, Ky. and Joy Conrad of North East, Md.; two sisters, Sylvia J. Watts of Sumerco, W.Va. and Judy Vickers of N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Wednesday, July 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md., where funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Massey Cemetery.
