Gino James Seppi

Gino James Seppi, 87

DAGSBORO - Gino James Seppi of Dagsboro died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 87.

He was born Aug. 9, 1920, in Trento, Italy, to the late Giacianto and Valeria (Peiffer) Seppi.

Mr. Seppi moved to Dagsboro in 1979 after retiring from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a cabinetmaker for many years.

Mr. Seppi served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1939 to 1947. He served in the 2nd Marine Division in World War II, where he received the Purple Heart for wounds sustained at Guadalcanal.

Mr. Seppi was discharged as a sergeant in February 1947.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, N.A.F.E., and also was a long standing member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post on Good Luck Road in Lanham, Md.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phoebe (Parks) Seppi.

Mr. Seppi is survived by one son, Henry Seppi and his wife, Kathleen, of Georgetown; one brother, Bruno Seppi and his wife, Martha, of Bowie, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.

Prayers will be offered at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior.

Deacon Dennis Hayden will officiate.

Interment will be in the Hamilton Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio.
