Gilbert J. 'Skip' Davis, 93 FRANKFORD - Gilbert J. "Skip" Davis, of Frankford, passed away in his home Wednesday, August 20, 2008. He was 93. He was born in Ocean View, son of the late, John W. and Georgia (Vickers) Davis. Gilbert was a retired tug boat engineer. He was a long time member of the Lord Baltimore Lions Club of Ocean View, the Roxana United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Winifred E. (Kelley) Davis in 2006. He is survived by four sons, James (Dianne), John, Donald (Vicki), and Richard (Violet); a daughter, Nancy Kudatzky; sister, Loretta Hassel; and twelve grandchildren. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Thatcher Street in Frankford, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mariner's Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in "Skips" memory to, Roxana United Methodist Church, 35901 Zion Church Rd, Frankford, DE. 19945.
