GEORGETOWN - Gilbert A. Buckley Jr., of Georgetown, passed away Feb. 14, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was 68. He was born in Milford the son of the late Gilbert A, Sr. and Pearl Buckley. Gilbert served in the Delaware National Guard and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Sussex Soil Conservation District. He was also a member of the Milton Lions Club. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rita; sons, Craig Buckley and his wife Stephanie of Purceville, Va., and Gilbert A Buckley III of Lincoln; daughters, Susie Hutchison and Sharon Buckley of Greenwood, Loralei Buckley of Milford and Mary Garbrick of Milford; as well as 10 grandchildren. Gilbert is also survived by son-in-law, Doug Sapp of Milford; and daughter-in-law, Susan Hofstetter of Felton; sisters, Delores Olsen of Lake City, Fla., and Sandra Wells of Laurel; and brother, Michael Buckley of Crestview, Fla. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milton. Flowers are accepted or contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 422 S. Governors Ave. Dover, DE 19904.
