Geraldine V. 'Gerry' Podlesny, 82
DENTON, Md. - Geraldine V. "Gerry" Podlesny of Denton died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, in her home. She was 82.
Born in West Islip, N.Y., Mrs. Podlesny was the daughter of the late Edward and Edna (Mullen) Prohaska.
Mrs. Podlesny had worked as a stenographer and secretary for the Caroline County Health Department, eventually becoming the administrator. She retired on Sept. 30, 1985.
An avid golfer, she and her husband, John L. Podlesny of Denton, were active members of the Caroline Country Club. They loved to travel and made many close friends along the way.
Mrs. Podlesny was amazingly strong of body, mind and principal, just ask anyone who knew her for more than three minutes.
She was loved and will be missed by many.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Podlesny is survived by one brother, Edward Prohaska of North Port, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, First Street, Denton.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton.
Interment will be in the Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Beulah.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
