FELTON - Geraldine "Gerry" Green Shelman Powell died at Bayhealth at Milford on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. She is the daughter of the late George H. Green Sr. and Clara McClean Green. Gerry graduated from Lake Forest High School Class of 1973. She was self-employed delivering the Wilmington News Journal for many years. In addition to her parents, her brother George Green, Jr. and daughter Katrina Shelman preceded her in death. Gerry will be remembered for her smile and loved to help anyone in need. She was kind to everyone and loved animals. There was no such thing as stray animals, she would always give the stray cats and dogs a home. She loved listening to Elvis music. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, John Powell; one sister, Virginia Martin; and her furry companion Hennessy, her pit bull dog. Services will be private.
