LINCOLN – Gerald C. Gray passed away suddenly as he was preparing to come home from the hospital on Monday, Nov. 6, 2017.
Gerald attacked life's challenges, including his cancer, head on; cared deeply for others, and even though he did not make millions, he would offer the shirt off his back to help others. Gerald had a passion for cooking and baking and could be found in various restaurants loved by locals providing delicious fare. He won several contest awards for his expertise. Fishing, cards, chess, bowling, The Baltimore Ravens and NASCAR were at the top of his favorites list. Gerald was also passionate about the Milford Community Parade serving as a committee member and working in the line-up area alongside his family. Every family gathering, you could count on him to share his humor and crazy hats. Christmas was special to Gerald, so much so that he reproduced Disney favorites to be placed in his parent's yard for the holidays that can still be seen today. His daughter, Samantha, picked up on his artistic abilities and created a greeting card for the yard display as well.
He loved all of his children no matter the challenges life threw his way.
Along with his late cousin, Charlie Gray, of Camden, Gerald became a member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge, and later a member of the Milford Moose Lodge.
Gerald is survived by four children, Jessica Gray, Angel Gray, Gerald "Gerry" Gray, and Samantha Gray; eight grandchildren; his mother, Marie Jo Gray and father, Jim Gray; two sisters, Carmen Kemper and Gaye Carter; and one brother, Charles Gray.
