Albury, 94 SEAFORD - George Washington Albury son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Albury was born on April 22, 1921 in Eleuthera, Bahamas. He departed this life on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Loftland Nursing Home in Seaford, Del. As a child, George was raised in Nassau, Bahamas with his nine brothers and sisters. He worked in numerous professions, such as the Pennsylvania Railroad Company and Dupont before settling with the State of Delaware Highway Department. In February of 1945, he married Elizabeth Prattis and out of that union ten children. In memory and celebration of life, George leaves to build on good memories shared, Betty of Kissimmee, Fla.; Una (William) of Millsboro, Del. ; George (Paulette) of Oxford, Md.; Carlton of Wilmington, Del.; James of Smryna, Del.; David of Seaford, Del.; Dorothy of Seaford, Del.; Maria (William) of Seaford, Del.; Elizabeth (Anthony), of Newark, Del.; Trina of Middletown, Del.; brother in-law, Emerson Prattis of Seaford, Del.; two sisters in-law, Mattie (Lewis) Burton of Leesburg, Fla. and Irene Horsey of Laurel, Del.; twenty grandchildren along with a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Albury; granddaughter, Porsha Albury; and grandson, Carlton E. Albury Jr. and a host of brothers and sisters. Services will be held on Sat., Aug. 29, 2015 at 1 p.m.at John Wesley UM Church Seaford, Del. with a viewing two hours prior. Interment in Macedonia Cemetery, Seaford, Del.
