GEORGETOWN - George W. Dick passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018, at Delaware Hospice Center.
George was born in Lewes to the late George H. and Teresa (West) Dick. He was a lifetime member of the Association of Retired State Police and a graduate of Rehoboth High School. After spending four years in the U.S. Navy, George joined the Delaware State Police in 1957 and, retired as a Captain in 1977. While with the State Police he worked at Troop 2, Troop 3 and was the Commander of Troop 4, when he retired.
George enjoyed carving ducks and birds as well as raising quail and chukars. He also enjoyed working in his yard with his wife.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Gary W. Dick; and his brother, John W. Dick.
He is survived by his wife, Connie L. Dick; children, Linda Lee Dick, Patricia D. Moore and her husband, Kenny W. Moore, William R. Dick, and Jacqueline D. Lynch and her husband, Lance F. Lynch, Sr.; and brother, Robert W. Dick; and grandchildren, Brandon Robert Moore, Christopher R. West and Samantha Marie West Broadhurst.
Funeral and burial services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory can be made to: Delaware State Police Museum, PO Box 430, Dover, DE 19903.
