George Steven 'Bowtie' Inverso, 50
DOVER - George Steven "Bowtie" Inverso of Dover died Monday, March 19, 2007, in his home. He was 50.
Mr. Inverso was born June 20, 1956, in Fort Dix, N.J., to George J. and Patricia (Beveridge) Inverso.
He was employed as a dredgeman and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 25, Marine Division.
Mr. Inverso was a graduate of the Restaurant School in Philadelphia and enjoyed fine foods. He was also as avid reader and his favorite subjects included history, politics and religions. His curiosity led him to take a course on Buddhism at Harvard University. He also once managed a rock band. George was loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly P. Book, on Aug. 21, 2005.
He is survived by his parents, George and Patricia Inverso of Dover; his sister, Domenica "Donna" Oldham and her husband Malcolm of Newark; his nephews, Ashlee and Ian Oldham; his nieces, Summer Matthews and her husband Scott, Autumn Oldham and her companion Fred McMahan, and Sydney and Quincey Book and their father Theodore A. Book; his grandnieces, Sierra and Shelby Matthews and Isabella "Bella" McMahan; his close companion, Melissa Rainey; and a longtime friend, Holly Little.
Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to a charity of choice.
