FRANKFORD - George R. Robinson, of Frankford, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at home. He was 73. George was born on March 4, 1938, the son of the late Ross and Helen (Murray) Robinson. For 25 years, he was a waste water operator for Sussex County retiring in 2000. He attended Georgetown Community Bible Church in Georgetown. He was a stock car driver at Delmar and Georgetown Racetracks in the 1960's & 1970's. He also loved camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald "Duck" Robinson, Norman "Boo" Robinson, and Jimmy Robinson. He is survived by his wife, Jean Chandler Robinson; three daughters, Gail Carmean and husband Blair, Brenda Hitchens and husband Kenny, all of Georgetown, and Lisa Todd and husband Michael of Clarksville; three sisters, Connie Pettyjohn, Olive Karr, and Carol Evans; and three brothers, C.R. Robinson, Mark Robinson, and Ronnie Robinson, all of Georgetown; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
