Genevieve M. 'E' Sheats, 86
DOVER - Genevieve M. "E" Sheats, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 9, 2008, in her great-niece's residence, with whom she lived. She was 86.
Born Oct. 19, 1921, in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and Elizabeth (Coleman) Sheats.
"E," as she was affectionately known, loved to play with toy army men and enjoyed watching "MASH."
She loved her family and brought great joy to them.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Sheats; a sister, Mary Sheats; and a niece, Kathleen E. Heverin.
Genevieve is survived by a nephew-in-law, Sidney W. Heverin, with whom she lived, along with his wife, Kathleen, for more than 35 years; a great-niece, Teena L. Heverin and her husband Ralph S. Heverin Sr. and their children, David E. Valdesere Jr. and Heather M. Heverin, all of Dover, and with whom she lived since April 2007; a great-nephew, John W. Morris Sr. and his wife Tammy of Camden, and their children, John W. Morris Jr. and his companion Amanda Gibson of Clayton and Melanie Grier of Camden; a great-great-niece, Lacey Morris of Clayton; two sisters, Elsie Pearce and Emily Pennington and their families; a cousin, Roger Breeding and his wife Zella and their family; a nephew, Raymond E. Gallagher; and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Gracelawn Memorial Chapel, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
