MARYDEL - Genevieve M. Hawn, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in her home. She was 80. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Louise Ordile Jackson. Mrs. Hawn had worked as an office clerk for GTE Sylvania (Verizon) of Mt. Laurel, N.J., retiring in 1977. She moved from Lindenwold, N.J. to Marydel in 1998 and was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marydel. A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Hawn enjoyed crocheting, sewing and baking. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard W. Hawn Sr., of Marydel; seven sons, Richard Jr., of Audubon, N.J., James, of Hartly, John, of Lindenwold, N.J., Joseph, of Waterford, N.J., Stephen, of Eastman, Ga., Robert, of Berlin, N.J., and Timothy, of Lindenwold, N.J.; three daughters, Carol Jean Sine, of Martinsburg, W.Va., Patricia Peacock, of Atco, N.J., and Anna Albertson, of Waterford, N.J.; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 12 noon Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009 at the funeral home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, where friends may call starting one hour prior. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
