Gary R. Kozak, 58

MILLSBORO - Gary R. Kozak, age 58, of Millsboro, formerly of Altoona, Pa., died peacefully in his sleep at home on Aug. 30, 2009, from cancer. Gary was born Sept. 2, 1950, in Altoona, Pa., to Richard and Bette Kozak. He married Mercedes Vallade in 1969 and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary this September. The consummate salesman, Gary spent many years in sales, most notably Family Mobile Homes of Altoona, and Tammac Holdings Corporation. He loved the ocean and moved to Millsboro full time in 2000. While here he enjoyed wonderful friends, great fishing, and a few winning season with the Dallas Cowboys. Gary also enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, both of whom he taught to play poker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes in March of 2009. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Kozak-Sellers and her husband Kyle; grandsons, Sean and Ethan Sellers of Lancaster, Pa.; brother, Jeff Kozak and wife Sharon; nephew, Ian Kozak; and niece, Jessica Kozak, all of Altoona, Pa. Memorial Services will be 4 p.m., Sept. 11, at Grace United Methodist Church, Millsboro. Following will be time for friends and fellowship at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford DE 19963. Without the unwavering and unconditional support of Hospice, Gary would not have been able to pass away at his home on his terms. His family is grateful to them and his caregivers.
