CHESTERTOWN - G. Robert Moffett, Jr. 'Bob' died August 20, 2015 in University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore, Md. Bob was born on June 11, 1939, son of Doris Dulin Moffett and the late George Robert Moffett Sr. As an infant his parents purchased Alfalfa Dell Farm near Chestertown where he was raised. After graduating in 1957 from Chestertown High School he continued farming with his father and brothers until retiring in 2002. He also operated a custom harvesting business and Moffett's Towing. Bob was an avid sportsman, competitive sporting clay shooter and enjoyed buying and selling at auctions. Following his retirement he spent many hours enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Kent County Ducks Unlimited, a long time 4-H member and past member of Chestertown Elks. Along with his father he was preceded in death by a brother Walter 'Feetsie' Moffett, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Hazel Mench Moffett; his mother, Doris Moffett of Chestertown; 3 daughters, Pennie Haase (Bob) of St. Michael's, Kellie King of Centreville and Sharon Freeman (Eddie) of Kennedyville; four grandchildren, Ross Smith, IV, Sarah Haase, Marshal Cahall, and Shannon Black (Scott); three great-grandchildren, Ross Smith, V, Tyler Hyatt and Carleigh Black and two brothers, William F. Moffett D.V.M. of Dover, Del. and Michael Moffett (Diane) of Worton, Md. Family and Friends are invited for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, Md.
