MILFORD - G. Nelson Kenton Sr. passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milford on Sept. 27, 1935, to the late William H. Kenton and Locedia (Daniels) Maloney.
Nelson had attended the Milford Church of God with his wife, Elouise. He retired as a chemical specialist at L.D. Caulk, Co. after 33 years and also worked as a private landscaper. Nelson enjoyed many hobbies, such as hunting, fishing, and boating.
Nelson is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Elouise (Bennett) Kenton; his sons, G. Nelson Kenton, Jr. (Karen) and Rick Kenton (Kim), both of Milford, and Marvin Kenton (Carmella), of Seattle; his daughter, Rita Frost (Thad), also of Milford; his brothers, Gene and Bill Kenton; his sisters, Janet Swain, Elsie Kenton, and Helena Pepper; eight grandchildren, Diana Conlon, Brandon Kenton, Lindsay Kenton, Tyler Kenton, Bethany Wybert, John Banks, Tim Frost, and Ryan Frost; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Gracie Kenton; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at 2 p.m., where friends may call after 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Milford Community Cemetery.
