HARRINGTON - G. Eloise Outten, of Harrington, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at home. She was 69.

She was born in Harrington, the daughter of the late Edgar "Tony" Brown and Matilda Brown Cornish.

She was a graduate of Harrington High School, class of 1956.

Eloise began working at the Dover Air Force Base in Dover as a budget analyst, working from 1956 until 1984, when she retired to purchase the Bridle Bit Liquor Store in Harrington.

She owned and operated the liquor store until 1996, when she went to care for her mother.

Eloise also worked at Cooperative Mortgage in Georgetown as well as sold Avon.

She was a member of Calvary Wesleyan Church, Harrington.

Eloise is survived by her husband of 50 years, Clifford N. Outten; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carol Outten and Kevin and Ginger Outten, all of Harrington; five grandchildren, John Bunting, Glenn Outten, Samantha Outten, Katlyn Chelton and Jordan Chelton; a great-granddaughter, Wynter Bunting; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis A. Curtiss and her husband Calvin of Harrington, Irene M. Pierson and her husband Edgar, of Milford, and Mary E. Pippin and her husband Billy of Felton; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas E. Brown and his wife Donna of Milford; an aunt, Sarah Hobbs of Milford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

Instead of flowers the family suggests contributions to either Calvary Wesleyan Church, 240 Delaware Ave., Harrington, DE 19952; or to Prospect United Methodist Church, c/o Jeanne Camper, 5118 Whiteleysburg Road, Harrington, DE 19952.
