Frederick W. Schatz

HOUSTON - Frederick W. Schatz passed away peacefully on Mon., Jun. 29, 2015 at home in Houston. Fred was born and raised in Lansdowne, MD the son of the late Philip and Annie Schatz. He was predeceased by his sisters, Katherine Smith and Margaret Poole; and his twin brother, William F. Schatz. Fred served during World War II as a Navy diver in the Pacific. After he was honorably discharged in 1946, Fred started a plastering and stucco business with his twin brother Will. Fred owned and operated the business for 63 years. He loved sports, especially Thoroughbred horse racing. Fred was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife of 69 years, Muriel Maisel Schatz; sons, Craig Schatz and spouse, Mary, Fred Schatz, Jr. and spouse, Sandra; grandchildren, Wendy Ryan and spouse, Brendan, Ruth Alessi and spouse, Anthony, Fred Schatz III and spouse, Shasta, Amanda Kilmer and spouse, Jon and Melissa Schatz; and four great-grandchildren. It was Fred's wish to be cremated and that services would be private. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
