Frederick Franze Sr., 75 DOVER - Frederick Franze Sr., of Dover, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at Kent General Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Franze was born June 9, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Ernst Franze and Patricia McEvoy Franze. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and then another 16 years in the U.S. Air Force. After the service he became an instructor/trainer for the Department of Corrections in Dover where he has worked for the last 28 years. Mr. Franze was a member of the 9th Virginia Civil War reinactors, and would do demonstrations in local schools. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. Mr. Franze is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia M. Connolly Franze of Dover; three sons, Frederick Franze, Jr. and his wife Laura of Dover, Raymond P. Franze and his wife Annette of Dover, Joseph P. Franze and his wife Terri of Virginia Beach, Va.; his daughter, Patricia J. Franze of Hartly; ten grandchildren, Raymond, Jr., Joey, Danielle, Brandon, Elizabeth, Emily, Benjamin, Joan, Hannah, and Emma; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 28, at Arlington National Cemetery.
