DOVER - Frederick A. Bell Jr. of Dover died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 73.
Mr. Bell was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Dover, son of Frederick A. Sr. and Dorothy Raymond Bell.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was a self-employed masonry contractor. For the last 15 years of his career, he was primarily a masonry contractor for Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital.
Mr. Bell was married to Patricia Anne Nelson, his wife of 51 years, who preceded him in death in November 2005.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed canoeing, and coached baseball for Camden-Wyoming Little League.
Mr. Bell was a member of Dover YMCA and Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover, where he served on various committees.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Bell and Christina Brown of Humarock, Mass. and Stephen F. Bell of Frederica and his fiancée, Mabel Jean Hayes; a brother, David Bell Sr. of Dover; a grandson, Stephen Bell Jr. of Dover; a nephew, David Bell Jr. of Dover; and a close friend, Joe Urash of Woodside.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Wesley United Methodist Church, 209 S. State St., Dover.
Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley U.M. Church, 209 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901.
