SMYRNA - Fred M. Goldsborough, of Smyrna, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. He was 92.
Mr. Goldsborough was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Smyrna, the son of the late Fred W. and Mame (Mannon) Goldsborough.
Mr. Goldsborough was a farmer in the Smyrna area for most of his life and also a union carpenter and inspector for the Delaware School Auxiliary.
He was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna, where he served on numerous committees and boards.
He was also an active member of the Clayton Lions Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Gearhart Goldsborough, on Aug. 12, 2006.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Foraker and her husband John of Smyrna; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday and also one hour prior to the services.
