GREENWOOD - Franklin R. Ellingsworth of Greenwood died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 60.
Mr. Ellingsworth was born April 12, 1947, in Milford, son of the late William and Elizabeth (Collins) Ellingsworth.
He was employed by the Delaware Department of Transportation, where he worked for 30 years.
He was a giving man, always happy and jolly, and would help anybody in need. He loved children, NASCAR, horse racing and going to the slots, and enjoyed going to Little League ball games.
Mr. Ellingsworth was a member of Ellendale Vol. Fire Co.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda; and a stepson, Frank V. Jones.
He is survived by three stepchildren and their spouses, Helen "Sandy" and Dale Willey of Bridgeville, Petie and Alan Holloway of Georgetown, and Nelson Jones of Long Neck; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Donald and Doris Ellingsworth of Georgetown, Bill and Frances Ellingsworth of Milford, and Wayne and Diane Ellingsworth of Georgetown; a sister and a brother-in-law, Libby and Kenny Droddy of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fleischauer Funeral Home, 48 W. Market St., Greenwood, where friends may call one hour earlier.
