MILFORD - Franklin H. Vincent, Jr. passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. Frank was born and raised in the Andrewville and Harrington area. Frank was the son of the late Franklin H. Vincent, Sr. and Amelia (Schumaker) Vincent. Frank served his country proudly during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Gunner's Mate aboard the Merchant Marine Ship's in convoy across the Atlantic and Foreign Ocean's during the Murmansk Run carrying war supplies to European Allies and Russia. He was a maintenance supervisor for the DuPont Company in Seaford for 38 years. Frank enjoyed riding his Cushman scooter in his younger years. Frank was an avid deer hunter and raised and hunted with his beagle hunting dogs. He also enjoyed doing word puzzle books. Frank was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Lillian (Donovan) Vincent; sister, Beatrice (Vincent) Bradley; sister, Frances (Vincent) Strange; sister, Katie Vincent; and infant brother, Howard Vincent. Frank is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Ann (Vincent) Reid, husband, William B. Reid of Milford; and daughter, Sandra Lee (Vincent)(Treadway) Laws and husband, James Lee Laws of Frederica; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106.
