SMYRNA - Frank T. Lis of Smyrna, formerly of Claymont, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 55.
Mr. Lis was born July 12, 1952, son of the late Frank and Anna W. Lis.
He was a graduate of Claymont High School.
Mr. Lis was a 23-year resident of the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna, after an accident left him paralyzed in 1976.
He enjoyed wildlife, the outdoors, gardening, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Lis; and a very special friend, Terry A. Records.
He is survived by two sisters, Martha Lis of Wilmington, and Ann Marie Boyd of Newark; one brother, William Lis of Meyerstown, Pa.; three nieces, Melissa Powell of Media, Pa., and Megan Lis and Christina Fidance, both of Wilmington; one great-niece; and two great-nephews.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 6 p.m.
Burial will be private.
Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to the Frank T. Lis Memorial Fund, c/o Commerce Bank, 2502 Marsh Road, Wilmington, DE 19810, for a memorial in Frank"s memory to be places at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill.
