NEW CASTEL, Del. - Frank Powers, Jr. passed away at his residence on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013. He was born in El Paso, Texas on July 16, 1933. He joined the US Air Force, and, for 30 years, proudly served his country, retiring at T. Sergeant. He also worked for Boeing for 50 years. Frank was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Marbia Powers; his son, Frank Powers, III; and his daughter, Linda Ashworth. He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Powers; three daughters, Jean Patterson of Lincoln, Del., Frances Doherty of Harrington, Del., and Mary Hibbitts of New Castle, Del.; also surviving are his grandchildren, Theresa D'Andrea, Christa Patterson, Tabitha Ashworth, Joey Ashworth, Thomas Bradley, Douglas Doherty Jr., Douglas Hibbitts and Tish Hibbitts; 13 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Ed Powers, Sr. of El Paso, Texas, Irene Smith of Las Vegas, N.V. and Jim Powers and Richard Powers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where friends are invited to visitation after 2 p.m. Interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear at 1 PM on Friday, September 13, 2013. 302-652-5913. www.MealeyFuneralHomes.com
