Frances Catherine McGinnis SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Frances C. McGinnis, of Sudlersville, died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 97. Mrs. McGinnis was born in Henderson, the daughter of the late Watson and Ella Jackson Clough. Mrs. McGinnis worked in the repair dept of Leeds Travel wear in Clayton, Del., retiring in 1972. Mrs. McGinnis was a member of the Templeville, Grange, the Templeville Homemakers, and The Top of the Hill Club in Sudlersville, and the Downes Chapel Ladies Aide and the Busick Church Ladies Aide, where she was also a Life member. Mrs. McGinnis enjoyed attending Downes Chapel Church where she was also a member. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. For many years she enjoyed working with her husband on the family farm, and continued to enjoy gardening. Mrs. McGinnis always enjoyed having a home full of family and friends and there was always a place setting and much to eat for who ever was there at meal time. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGinnis was predeceased by her husband, Robert McGinnis in 1980 as well as five brothers and one sister. She is survived by her nephew and his wife, Watson and Margaret Clough of Dover, Del.; her niece, Carmella Bowden of Middletown, Del.; two cousins, several great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews, and her very dear friends, Gladys Truitt and Ginger Jones. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends and family may call after noon. Interment will follow the services in the Templeville Cemetery, Templeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Busick's Church, c/o Charlotte Davis, 130 Chesterville- Millington Rd., Millington, MD 21651; or Downes Chapel Church c/o Ginger Jones, 6703 Sudlersville Rd., Marydel, MD 21649
