Frances Atwell Money

KENNEDYVILLE - Frances Atwell Money died on Dec. 26, 2012 at Golden Rule Assisted Living Home in Rock Hall, Md. Mrs. Money was born on April 6, 1918 in Kennedyville, Md. She was the daughter of the late Oliver and Nellie Jones Atwell. She graduated from Chestertown High School in 1935. She married George Albert Money in 1937. They lived on a farm in Kennedyville until Mr. Money's passing in 1950. In 1951, Mrs. Money went to work for People's Bank in Chestertown as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Money was a life-long member of Kennedyville United Methodist Church, serving over 50 years as church financial secretary. She was also a charter member of the Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Money was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia A. Timko and Mary A. Hill; and a brother, Allan Atwell. Mrs. Money is survived by her daughter, Joyce Money Jacobs and husband, Thomas E., of Kennedyville; and a granddaughter, Nicole Jacobs of Kennedyville; as well as a brother, G. Clifton Atwell; and sisters, Dorothy A. Pinder and Margaret A. Miller, all of Kennedyville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 1 p.m at Kennedyville United Methodist Church where relatives and friends may call two hours prior 11 to 1 p.m.. Interment will be in Chester Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Kennedyville United Methodist Church, 11979 Augustine Herman Highway, Kennedyville, MD 21645 or the Kennedyville Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 98, Kennedyville, MD 21645. Arrangements by Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD.
