Floyd R. Savage

REHOBOTH BEACH - Floyd R. Savage, age 81, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at his residence in Rehoboth Beach. He was born on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach on Nov. 15, 1929, son of the late Floyd Bloxom Savage and the late Dorothy Quillen Savage. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Shirley A. Savage in 2001. Mr. Savage began his career with the former Rehoboth Dairy where held the postions of milk processor and as a field delivery driver from farm to dairy. He later became a custodian for the Rehoboth Elementary and Jr. High Schools, retiring in 1994 after 37 years service. Mr. Savage was a volunteer fireman for the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department for over 54 years. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Kelly Savage; his son, Bob Savage of Milford; daughter, Dotti Neske of Long Neck; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great- great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandsons. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, with the Pastor Charles Arnold officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at the funeral home, Interment with firemans honors will be in Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach. Memorial contributions may be sent to Rehoboth Beach Vol. Fire Dept. P,O. Box 327 Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.parsellfuneralhomes.com.
